Tecnostrutture
Tecnostrutture has implemented Microsoft Dynamics management software to ensure accurate management of the job order, from both an economic and production level
About us
Tecnostrutture has been a leading player since 1983 in the field of mixed steel and concrete structures and prefabs for infrastructure, as well as tertiary and civil buildings. The company provides a varied range of engineering solutions that are widely used in projects of all dimensions.
The mission is to ensure certain timescales and costs through a construction system that is safer, more efficient and sustainable than traditional ones.
The vision is to succeed in industrializing the world of construction. As happened in the automotive sector, applying innovation to the world of construction.
Requirements
Tecnostrutture needed to replace the management system, implemented a decade earlier, with a new ERP capable of keeping pace with the company's continued growth in the national and international arena. Specifically, it needed a solution that would ensure not only integrated management of all company departments, but also specific management of job orders in terms of both economics and production planning, while also integrating external work account and service processes.
Tecnostrutture therefore wanted to have a system capable of detecting and monitoring in detail the cost and revenue elements of job orders, guaranteeing analysis on various levels of detail and the collection of structured information in order to simplify the budgeting of new job orders. This is the case even for projects with a high degree of complexity in terms of duration and mix of products, services and add-ons.
Another goal was to have a management system that would be the foundation element of a more extensive project to integrate other outlying systems, from MES for tracking production progress and consumption to Power BI for data analysis and synthesis. Finally, great attention was required to the functional coverage of processes related to the quality management system, particularly traceability and product controls.
The Solution
Tecnostrutture identified Microsoft Dynamics as its ERP solution and chose EOS Solutions as its partner to implement the project.
Fundamental to the success of the project was the bidirectional interfacing between the engineering department's systems and the ERP, particularly with the Engineering job order management module. All key processes were brought under ERP management, and this facilitated the integrated collection of all the elements the company needed for detailed job analysis.
An external CRM system was integrated to give and receive critical information in customer engagement activities. Some production facilities have been interfaced for automatic collection of production progress information and production plan communication. In the remaining production areas, processing times are entered directly into the system via terminals or computers.
The product traceability part, managed from the raw material to the finished product, has been extended through the implementation of a Microsoft PowerApps-based app that, through real-time communication with the management system, allows the location of use of each item to be tracked at the worksite.

Benefits
The overall benefits that the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics ERP has brought are the accuracy and timeliness of information and improved operational efficiency.
Going into detail, the solution has made it possible to improve production and logistics planning of job orders and the analysis of economic revenue and cost data (budget, forecast and actual) through different reclassification models. Result achieved uniformly for all types of job orders, from those by job order to those detailed by individual ancillary product or service.
Interfacing with the systems of the engineering department has made possible the automatic propagation of data, which, passing through the Engineering module, feed both the order management processes and those of production, purchasing, logistics and quality. As a result, the possibility of error, which was previously a possibility due to the imputation of the same information on several systems, has also been eliminated.
The quality system has gained significant benefits from the integration of the related Microsoft Dynamics module with the external engineering system, where information resides that allows precise control plans to be defined on individual production orders. Product traceability has been fully reported within the ERP system, including through the implementation of an app with the Microsoft PowerApps platform that allows the process to be completed directly at customer sites.
The administrative department also gained a variety of benefits from the integration of all business processes into one central system. It has greatly simplified both the passive flow, facilitated by the management of the purchasing process by job order, and the active invoicing process, where the timely and peculiar collection of information has automated, for example, the invoicing by work progress stages agreed upon in the billing plan of the job order.
