About us

With more than fifty years of market presence, MP Filtri has led the field of hydraulic filtration through products and services able to meet the needs of manufacturers in any industry. MP Filtri needed a new ERP system in order to create a shared working platform for its entire group. Following a careful analysis by EOS Solutions, critical issues and opportunities for potential improvements in processes and systems were identified first macroscopically and later at a level of greater detail.

Many years have passed since those days in 1964 when Bruno Pasotto decided to dedicate his work to satisfying a market need that was not, at the time, fully understood. The quality of MP Filtri products was so thoroughly competitive with those sold by large international manufacturers that it became essential to open sales outlets abroad to make MP Filtri’s presence more widely known. As a result, Pasotto launched branches in England, Germany, France, the United States, Canada, China, India, and Russia.

The company continued to grow and, during the 1980s, the MP Filtri Group was formed with the building of a foundry and the acquisition of a machine shop. The result was the creation of a major manufacturing company capable of overseeing all facets of the production process—from raw aluminum to final assembly—combined with state of the art monitoring and quality control.

MP Filtri needed a new ERP system in order to create a shared work platform for its entire group.

Previously, the company had been using different systems to manage factories in Italy and England as well as two sales offices in Germany and France. The company also needed to synchronize production management at a group-wide level, including alignment of coding protocols, product-configuration management, parametric programming for inventory management, cost control, and management oversight. Last but not least, all the company’s procedures and protocols needed to be reviewed in the context of the complex challenge of applying group logic where possible.

In specific, MP Filtri wanted to create a shared, unambiguous database, more effectively integrate information flows within the company in order to improve managerial decision making, improve efficiency through automation of the information-related procedures utilized for management of company processes, eliminate redundant systems and data, reduce the use of paper, and increase the use of electronic communications (email, workflow software, etc.)

The project began after EOS Solutions was chosen to replace a previous partner under fairly dramatic start-up conditions. EOS’s approach to implementing the continuous improvement of processes and systems was not limited to a single area of the company; rather EOS sought to exploit broad-spectrum opportunities latent in the company structure, which are typical of a functioning business in which individual organizational units seem unaware of their interdependence. The goal, then, was to define an action plan capable of connecting potential benefits with ease and speed of change.

In order for MP Filtri to implement the project correctly, a sensibility-analysis phase was considered fundamental if the company was to succeed in identifying—first macroscopically and subsequently at a level of greater detail—the critical issues and opportunities for potential improvement in processes and systems. EOS thus worked in several areas, starting with management control, then working to restore efficiency to the accounting system, preparing to introduce an improved reporting system, implementing a product configurator in the design and engineering office, and refining and rebuilding operational flows by designing a platform that would provide interconnection among branch offices and facilities.

Implementing new ERP solutions allowed MP Filtri to centralize core information throughout the company’s holdings and to introduce an extremely high level of standardization in procedures, processes, and technical structures.

We chose AX as the MP Filtri Group’s new ERP for three fundamental reasons: the flexibility of the software in a company whose mission is flexibility; the simplicity of the interface and of integration with field-specific tools such as BI, automatic warehousing, and production control; and interoperability in the Group’s intercompany environment. After working with this solution for three years in the parent company and in the three branches where AX has been implemented, we’ve seen clear, tangible results.

Andrea Canestraci, ERP Manager MP Filtri

The implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX by EOS allowed MP Filtri Group to manage its entire business successfully, integrating all of the Group’s companies in Italy and abroad into a single platform. The solution’s highly integrated management-control model gives us the ability to oversee a successful logistical structure for manufacturing and distribution.
